
On 15th April 2015 a group of CLAIR (The Japan Council of Local Authorities For International Relations) officers accompanied by First Secretary Mr Fukishima visited JCC. JCC’s Deputy Director Mr Masanori Kawabata gave them the insights of JCC’s activities. The CLAIR officers were very impressed with the presentation and were totally indulged in a two way informative discussion.
CLAIR was established as a joint effort of Japanese Local Governments to promote and provide support for Local Internationalization. CLAIR has been set up in seven countries such as Singapore, New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Sydney and Beijing with Tokyo as it headquarters
CLAIR aims to promote exchange between Japan, ASEAN Countries and India. It does research on the administration and finance systems that being used in ASEAN Countries and to introduce the Japanese way of administration to these ASEAN countries. CLAIR has been promoting Japan tourism and local products to the ASEAN countries. It was an honour to have their presence here at JCC.
